A Free Will Baptist Ministry

WHO WE ARE
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Matthew 5:14

Our History

Kendale Acres Free Will Baptist Church was organized on October 16, 1970 under the name of First Free Will Baptist Church. In 1973 the church completed its fist building project and the congregation moved to its new location at 3407 Cemetery Road. The church voted to change names to Kendale Acres Free Will Baptist in 1975. As the church grew, so did the need for more space. In 2001 construction began on a new sanctuary, and in 2002 the new building was dedicated to the service of the Lord. Nine men have served as pastor since being organized in 1970: Grant Saverance, Mike Tart, Joe Dan Underwood, Richard Barnes, AC Morgan, Robert Hesselmeyer, Jerry Gray, Billy Keith, and Doug Western. God has blessed us through the years and is continuing to bless as we seek to serve Him here in Sanford, North Carolina.

Our Mission

Our mission at Kendale Acres is to promote the Kingdom of God. We seek to do this by educating people with the Word of God, encouraging people through the grace of God and empowering people through the Spirit of God. It is our desire to teach people of the need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and then to teach them how to let that relationship guide their life.

Our Beliefs

Kendale Acres Church is part of the Free Will Baptist denomination. We stand united with other Free Will Baptist churches and ministries in affirming the beliefs listed here: What We Believe

Our Pastor

Brother Doug Western and his family - Angie, Zachary, and Sarah, came to Kendale Acres in May 2007. Doug and Angie are originally from Chesterfield, VA where they attended Good News FWB Church under Rev. Glen Johnson. Bro. Doug was saved at the Wild's Youth Camp in Brevard, NC when he was fifteen years old. In 1998 he felt God's call on his life and answered the call to preach. After attending Southeastern FWB Bible college for two years, he felt the call into full-time ministry in Rock Hill, SC. There he served as pastor for six years before being called to join the church family at Kendale Acres. He is a man dedicated to the preaching of the Bible and to promoting the kingdom of Christ throughout our world. We are seeing God do wonderful things through Bro. Doug in the ministry here at Kendale Acres.
